How Do We Treat Neurologic and Rheumatologic Conditions?
At Physical Therapy 4 Kids, our Pediatric Physical Therapists are experts in treating children with Neurologic and Rheumatologic (arthritic) conditions. These conditions may have an impact on the child’s development including difficulty with physical function, mobility, range of motion, strength, walking, balance and coordination. Our therapists work with the children in our state-of-the-art facility to improve their ability to function at home, in school and in their community. Each child is different and progresses at their own rate; for some children it is only a few weeks and for others it may take a longer period of time.
What Is a Session Like?
In our facility, our sessions are generally set up as guided playtime. This approach engages the child, while accomplishing the goals we are working toward in a fun, interactive environment. We encourage the parents and caregivers to participate in the sessions to learn how to do the activities at home for safe carryover of the exercises between sessions for maximum improvement. The Pediatric Physical Therapists work to improve the child’s quality of life by teaching them how to perform daily activities with ease and teach them ways to stay active.
